Business Ethics
Business Ethics examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that can arise in a business environment. In the increasingly conscience-focused market places of today, the demand for more ethical business processes “ethicism” is increasing.

Quantum Communications make reasonable endeavours to ensure all our suppliers work with ethicism and also pro-actively encourage our clients to work with us in this process.

A large part of our ethical policy involves Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Whilst there is no recognized standard for CSR, it is widely accepted that CSR adheres to principles but with no formal act of legislation.

We are more than aware that we are in the business of putting people on planes and encouraging consumerism as are many of our clients and suppliers. As a result of this not only do we make a driven effort to reduce our own impact both in the office and on location, we also encourage our clients and suppliers to adopt reasonable endeavours to make a small yet priceless effort when working with us.

Having forged strong relationships with many suppliers in the developing and 1st World we have a strong affinity with many areas of natural beauty, rich in culture and heritage. For this reason we fully understand “reducing our impact” is not just about saving the ozone layer and reducing carbon footprint which are the buzz words of today, it is also about other less headline issues that are of equal importance if we are to preserve the cultures and ways of life that make travel so inspiring and enjoyable for us all.

We consider the following areas of great importance and actively discuss and look at ways to reduce impact with our clients and partners.
  • To protect the environment – its flora, fauna and landscapes
  • To respect local cultures – traditions, religions and built heritage
  • To benefit local communities – both economically and socially
  • To conserve natural resources – from office to destination
  • To minimise pollution – through noise, waste disposal and congestion
With all of our clients we discuss and encourage working with local cultures that we visit; minimising our negative impact and giving something back where appropriate. Possibly contributing to vital local services with the provision of clean water to sub Saharan villages, helping lay the bricks for a community school in Nepal or encouraging education by way of guides offering knowledge of their local regions on pressing issues.

Responsibility does not stop there, we must also ensure all our groups are appropriately dressed and respect local customs when visiting areas of cultural and religious sensitivity throughout the world.

The total set of GHG emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organisation, event or product is commonly called their ‘carbon footprint’. Calculating the carbon footprint of an organisation can be the first step in a programme to reduce the emissions it causes. Working in conjunction with The Carbon Trust which was founded to provide carbon measurement and reduction strategies primarily for the travel sector, Quantum is currently looking at ways it can offset its impact to the environment.
